Outreach
Outreach. What does it mean? One definition means the act or process of reaching out. I like the word act. It reminds me of action; which is what Jesus was all about. No. Jesus wasn’t lazy. He was a man on a mission. We believe that we need to be passionate about reaching people with the Gospel of Jesus. We believe in the Great Commission of Jesus which tells us to go into all the world, & make disciples of all people, and were always looking for ways to make that happen! Here are a few of the things that we do.
- Bless-A-Block
- A monthly outreach to neighborhoods in Nacogdoches.
- We take a crew of volunteers out armed with lawn mowers, weed eaters, rakes, pruners, and other garden tools to clean peoples yards because God has been good to us!
- Gettin-It-Right Bull Riding
- A monthly outreach @ the Nacogdoches County Expo Center.
- Our goal is to share Jesus with people who love the sport of Rodeo.
- Every month hundreds of people come out to see amateur bull riders try to develop their skills on live bulls!
- Those that are brave enough ride for free.
- The only requirement is that everyone attends the bible study that we have before they ride.
- Single Mom’s / Senior Citizens Oil Change
- A monthly outreach to single mom’s and elderly people that need a little help maintaining their car.
- Several church volunteers with the gift to work on cars get out in the church parking lot, and & get dirty for Jesus!
- Effective Acts Drama
- Acts 1:8 "When the holy Spirit has come upon you he will give you power to testify with great effects"The drama ministry presents the word of God in a way that produces great life changing effects!
- Ground Effects Dance Team
- This is a very fun outreach to our church, & our town.
- People from all different ages put together impressive dance routines to minister, & open hearts to God’s Word.
- Nursing Home Outreach
- We have a great team of people at Jubilee who visit the elderly in a different nursing home each week, this is a wonderful area to sow seed!
- Strength Team
- Pastor Chet is a member of in international outreach called, “The Strength Team”. This ministry is made up of 14 men who travel all over the world doing public school assemblies and nightly crusades. In the school assemblies they teach elementary and high school kids a positive and motivating message about having dreams and goals and not allowing drugs, alcohol or any such things to steal those dreams and goals. Pastor Chet has been traveling with the team since August of 2005.
